Parking

Permits

Parking permits are required for all Residence Hall lots, and must be placed on the dashboard of each vehicle.

Daily permits: must be ordered by the organizer in advance and will be charged to the master bill. Unfortunately, we cannot bill individuals directly for daily permits, and unused permits cannot be returned for credit. Individuals may purchase hourly permits.(See "Hourly Permits for Residence Hall Lots" below)

Parking permits will be charged at the rate of $15 per day.

Vehicles with a University of California annual parking permit may park onsite at no additional cost.

Hourly permits: Individuals may purchase hourly permits from dispensing machines in the Residence Hall lots.

Please carefully read the posted instructions for payment. Daily permits expire every morning (including weekends).

Please note that parking rates are subject to change without notice.

City of Berkeley Parking

Street parking around the Berkeley campus is limited. Vehicles without City of Berkeley resident/business permits are subject to two-hour parking restrictions between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Some spaces require payment at meters.

Public Parking Lots: The City of Berkeley has public parking lots (link is external), with hourly rates, near the campus.

Parking Permits: Additional parking is available through the City of Berkeley. The city’s Transportation Division can be reached at 510.981.7010. If you want us to assist with city parking, please let us know.

Bus Parking

Charter bus parking is limited. We recommend that bus parking be scheduled for either Monday through Friday after 5:30 p.m., or on a weekend, when campus parking is more readily available.

Bus parking can be pre-arranged directly through the Event Services division of the Parking & Transportation department. They can be reached at 510.642.5401. Or we can arrange bus parking for you. Please note, if insufficient notice is given prior to an event, late fees may be charged.
